Pastor's Notes #010/24 (Keep hope alive).

"...Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning." Psalms 30:5

Some difficult situations may last a bit long but they will still come to an end. Keep hope alive as you go through it. Your morning will come.Β You are not alone; God is with you.

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me..." Psalms 23:4

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, it's not easy right now but I know you are with me. It will all end in praiseβœ“. In Jesus' name we pray.

Pastor's Notes #009/24 (Seasons)

"Those too lazy to plow in the right season will have no food at the harvest."Β Proverbs 20:4

Good things done at a wrong time can sometimes be irrelevant. The ability to discern seasons is God-given. Overcome procrastination and do things when it's the right time to do them.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.."Β Ecclesiastes 3:1

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Father in the name of Jesus, I ask you to help me know what to do and when to do it. I step out of laziness and I choose to do my part as I wait for the perfection of your purposes for me.

Pastor's Notes #008/24 (Look up to Him)

"..Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12

Maybe like Jehoshaphat, you also don't know what to do! What is before you looks bigger than you can handle! Do what Jehoshaphat did: set your eyes on God, tell Him about it and wait for His deliverance.

"....The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Exodus 14:14

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, I commit into your hands the things that look so great for me. Your power is limitless and with you nothing is impossible. I refuse to worry but I choose to wait on you Lord. In Jesus' name we pray.

Pastor's Notes #007/24 (Exercise discernment).

"The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps."Β Proverbs 14:15

Discernment is simply the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, true and false, authentic and counterfeit, good and bad. Discernment helps you to see what is not shown and to hear what is not spoken; it takes you beyond the surface of things. Our natural senses (sight, taste, hearing etc) are not enough to guide us in a world full of deception. You need to exercise your ability to discern and the Holy Spirit is present with us to help us.Β

Isaiah says this about Jesus....

".....He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear..." Isaiah 11:3

Jesus' life was not guided by His canal senses but by the Holy Spirit who always enabled Him to discern in every circumstance.

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, I know you know what I don't know and you see what you don't see. Teach my spirit to discern so that my choices may be guided by your Spirit. In Jesus' name we pray.

Pastor's Notes #006/24 (Guard your mouth).

"Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin." Proverbs 13:3

Our words can easily get us into danger, they can ruin relationships and can gravely hurt others. Words are also a great spiritual tool; God responds to our words and Satan does too. Your utterances can spiritually attract good or evil.

Let's learn to exercise self-control even when we are under great pressure to say something. Let's fill our hearts ❀️ ❀️ ❀️ with the word of God which is able to positively influence what we say, when we say it and how we say it.

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, I know that my mouth can cause me to prosper or bring me trouble; set a guard over the door of my mouth. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your sight my Rock and my Redeemer. In Jesus' name we pray.

Pastor's Notes 005/24 (How to support your shepherds... Part 1)

God has charged our pastors, church leaders and others in that category with the responsibility of caring for us. They will also give an accountability of how they did their work.

β€œ β€˜And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding...." Jeremiah 3:15

However, these men and women badly need the support of the people they lead if they are to be effective with their work. For the next few days I will share different ways you can support your pastor or others that work with him.

Pray for them. Your pastors need your prayers. Often a time we run to them for prayer but we rarely think they too need our prayer support. Apostle Paul has this to say to the brothers at Rome....

"Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:30

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, help me to remember my pastors, my leaders and my ministers each time I pray. I ask this in Jesus' nameΒ

Pastor's Notes #004/24 (Let's go to church)

"And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near."Β Hebrews 10:25

It's a great privilege to fellowship with other believers moreso for a Sunday worship service. When we come together we find encouragement from one another, we get an opportunity to serve each other, we are able to pray for one another and above all we enjoy the promised presence of God in our midst.

What a blessing it is to fellowship regularly!

"...For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:20

David speaks in one place and says....

I was glad when they said to me, β€œLet us go to the house of the LORD!” Psalms 122:1

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, may you help us to find joy in fellowship, may we count it a blessing and not a burden. May we be active and living members of the fellowship. In Jesus' name we pray.

Pastor's Notes #003/24 (Sound Leaders)

"In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes."Β Judges 21:25

Leaders are charged with a responsibility of knowing what is right and offering direction for those they lead. Good leaders depend on God and His word.

People are expected to submit to the Godly guidance and direction provided by their leaders. When these two virtues meet, the people thrive.

In times of Judges 21 there was no godly leader to offer direction and so the people did all sorts of awful things which in turn rained evil on their heads.

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, help my leaders to depend on you and to be fully submitted your authority. May you also give me a humble heart to obey my leaders. In Jesus' name we pray.

Pastor's Notes #002/24 (Wisdom)

We need wisdom to live the kind of life that God wants and to experience victory.Β But where does wisdom come from?

Christ Jesus is the full embodiment of all God's wisdom. Accepting Christ in your life is receiving the unlimited measure of God's wisdom.

"....Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God." 1 Corinthians 1:24

A prayerful and God-fearing life is what releases the unlimited wisdom of God in you to flow and to manifest. To fear the Lord means to fully submit to God's word, allowing it to direct your life.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." James 1:5

"And he said to man, β€˜Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’" Job 28:28

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, I thank you for helping me believe in your only Son (the embodiment of your wisdom); I know your wisdom abides in me through Christ Jesus. Lead me on paths of righteousness for your name's sake so that I may experience the full manifestation of your wisdom in and through my life. In Jesus' name I pray.

Pastor's Notes #001/24

"Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles."

Psalms 25:22

We are sometimes beset by troubles of varied calibres but in the place of earnest prayer to the God of our redemption, we can have a confident expectation of His deliverance from them all.

In another place, David confidently declares....

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all."

Psalms 34:19

LET'S PRAY πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dear Father, though I feel overwhelmed by a lot, I still trust your grace to deliver me. Redeem me from all my troubles that I may continually declare your praises. In Jesus' name I pray.
